1. Whale Watching
Looking forward to seeing some whales breach the surface of the ocean? In Merimbula, it’s possible. Throughout August until November, you’ll have the chance to go whale watching right on the Sapphire Coast and have fun learning about the different species of whales in their home turf.
Whale watching cruises is generally safe for families but always observe physical distancing within the vessel.
2. Merimbula Boardwalk
Located at the southern part of town, the Merimbula Boardwalk is famous for viewing mangroves, sandy beaches and even some of our oyster farms. It’s serene and picturesque, offering a perfect stroll that encapsulates the beauty Merimbula has to offer.
3. National Parks
Our coastal town takes pride in its natural beauty and we have national parks throughout the area. Each park offers a different kind of experience. If you’re more into water sports, for example, head on over to Bournda National Park where you can swim, sail and do some paddleboarding.
On the other hand, if you’d like to learn more about our Aboriginal heritage, you can go to Biamanga National Park, a sacred site for the Yuin People. This park is also home to Mumbulla Mountain, the central feature of the park. There are BBQ facilities available if you want to grill something up.
Finally, you can trek the trails of Goodenia Rainforest Walking Track, perfect for children and for those who appreciate lower temperatures. A picnic area is available for families who would like to grab a bite to eat before or after the trail.
4. Golf Courses
